Today we added new characters that travel around the world and may visit your towns from time to time. Some of them are helpful, some are funny, and some of them are bizarre. There are 11 different characters - and it depends on your luck which character you are going to meet up with, and how often. They can appear anywhere inside your towns on a daily basis, so if you don't want to miss them, make sure your entire town area is uncovered from fog. While it's up to you to discover all the obvious and hidden functionalities, here is a brief description of some of the features: - Antiquarian - can exchange 10 items you don't need into something random. Now your expired Pysanka Eggs will have some use.
- Blacksmith - allows you to craft items. Unlike idols, this will require some time.
- Butcher - discover some unexpected uses for your trusty tamed animals.
- Chef - those heroes who need more food will be glad to meet this character.
- Debtor - this one is shady, but may be quite helpful (or the other way around).
- Gypsy Man - gypsies are known for their love of horses.
- Gypsy Woman - it seems that she is running pretty good deals, but is it really doing so?
- Necromancer - did you ever want to have a skeleton on your side? You might have a chance now.
- Riddler - it starts out like some simple childhood riddle - but then...
- Slaver - now you can find a better use for the troops you were going to dismiss.
- Sleuth - he will deal with that "final clover leaf on green background" problem in no time - if you can afford his services.
Let us know what you think about these new characters and post about your experience with them, features you have uncovered, weird, unclear, and funny moments, etc. P.S. By popular demand we have also added a Vacation Mode. No big deal, but it allows you to leave without the fear of your country being deleted due to inactivity (It may still be deleted due to aggressive neighbors or other disasters, but oh well).

Hmm pretty nifty looking stuff. Though placing the item finding feature in a random event is rather :| as we have no control over it actually showing up when we need it. But alas, guess I can deal with it for now. Though I would still really like it if you could manage to reinsert the last collectible pulses slowly feature. No rush though, you can just put it on the big list of stuff you will get to eventually that you have no doubt placed somewhere in your office/on a computer :)

Love the new characters! I've met three already: the chef, the riddler and the slaver. The chef is great!! Very, very much needed. Shame she doesn't take cabbages, though, considering I have 112 of them :) I also have many more units to sell the slaver than he's willing to take. Let's hope he drops by a lot! Love this update! Can't wait to meet the other characters.

Your cabbage is wild and not suitable for cooking, otherwise she would :)

These sound great! With the possible exception of The Butcher. LEAVE MY PENGUINS ALONE!!! ;-)

Well of the three I have had visit so far I am kind of disappointed. Hopefully they get better as you go further along?

Loved Gypsy man. what language is he speaking? Had a problem with Slaver. I wanted to see how it worked, and when I got up to buying, there was no way to say no. only OK. I would like a cancel or no thanks option at that point.

There IS such an option for selling your people. But second the objection if buying is messy as reported.

Anyone can post what they do exactly so we know for each one ? I'm considering making a new town with 1 pilgrim, using the traveler, destroying the town then repeat if some are interesting one time (like the one who take the dozen pysankas I had). Me I have the antiquarian that took multiple times 10 expired Pysanka and 10 devil in disguise for 1 item, got blueprint, veles helmet, figurine of teaching this way. Someone that took me 4500 food and should give me 13500 back one day, I don't know when or if in 1 time because I don't have enough storage for that. Slaver, that give 50% the cost of units you want to dismiss, no animals no boats no constructs though. Also currently sell 1 knight for around 1600 rocks.

The characters will cycle once a day, so not much sense making new towns for them.

These are a great new dimension and I really appreciate the chance to get rid of items I don't plan to use for the chance to get something useful. Great idea!

So far the sleuth, the chef and the gypsy paid me a visit. The sleuth and the chef were of no use for me, as they both appeared in the city where I didn't need them...Now the gypsy is something totally different. That's some nice stuff he's offering ! :))

I have been visited by several characters ... five or six maybe. But I am limited these days in play time so I might have missed somebody. Loads of fun! The slaver is my favorite for now because ... well he did provide me with some pretty nice personnel that otherwise would not be available to me. I hope he comes back. I understand his offerings differ each visit. So maybe I won't spend every time I find him. Each tent or trade location or trader is unique, the graphics of course are great! Great graphics are becoming a trademark in this game. I have not had visits from many of the traders/gypsies/etc.... maybe if there are glitches to report I have not experienced them yet. Thanks for more fun added to this game.

The antiquarian took some of those things I don't use much and that was great. I like that she allowed me to make several exchanges while she was there.

What happened if you ask butcher/blacksmith to act just before he leaves, will it be all wasted ?

Yes, wasted a penguin. For blacksmith (16000 iron...) you should either add a message that he refuse "Sorry but I have to go soon and won't be able to complete it on time, ask me earlier next time you see me !" or leave some kind of chest where he was.
