[SPOILER] Survey for those who beat Karfaree or at least played it long enough.

I havent 100% karfaee yet. thou I expect that to require more then one town... but I did finish a couple of the quests including the main one and the opera one.. so here we go!

How long did it take to beat the main quest? How long secondary quests?

well i didnt really focus on the main quest so to say as I figured that in order to get a invite you would need to do the side quests first...

That did a while thou as I have vision problem and the objects that were needed to be found where very well hidden. like almost completely hidden. like you could just BARELY see the item even with zoomed in at 200%.

Which quests have you beaten and which failed or decided to skip? Why?

I finished the main quest, the cooking one and the opera one. I'd say by far the opera one took the most time trying to find 15 very well hidden opera pages and then doing all the other steps.. which nice work on throwing off the trial. i kind of found out how to progress by purely process of elimination.  i havent failed any and I decided to skip the rose and the zoo one as I think i might need a second town to find said objects...

How did you get into Karfaree?

well I heard bribing works wonders.....

i got my FIRST invite by finishing the cooking quest. there also another way to get a invite by finishing the opera quest...

Um it was the one with the carrot, squash, fish and egg forgot what that was called...

Yes I took part. I was successful into getting all my lines correct. I do not thinK i recieved a mask?

unfortunately I think I choose the wrong options and ended up having to sell out a thousand lumber and 2 lucky coins. (WHY MY LUCKY COINS?!?!)

Yes I did visit. dont touch the arena wall. I tried to escape but I wasnt seemingly able to click on anything or drop a flag or anything.. might have done it wrong..

working on it. I have a feeling my character needs some wisdom or some intelligence in order to beat the quest thou

it made it feel like a actual real life town with that aspect

it makes it more interesting as it adds a much needed level of depth to the game. where Im basically not just building stuff to go beat up someone.

i would say the hardest for me was the opera pages. bad eye sight, super well hidden pages plus  a quest line that threw me off the trail on what to do....

I like the size of karfaree its a nice size which has things hidden all over to try to finish and not just a town where as soon as it appears you can beat the entire thing...

well lots and lots of searching....

I pulled out my magaifying glass and went to town clicking on seemingly random things in hope of finding the items I was looking for.

First i started off by trying to find the opera pages, then that turned into finding food items. after i found all the food items I needed and gathered the rest from my town.. i made a salad, then went to the party and talked to the jester. i got the bronze sphere question right but got the second question wrong about it being in the ruins.. so I was told I was wrong and go find out the actual answer and to come back...

I have completed some parts of Karfaree but not 100% either.

1.  Not complete.  It seems I need to be higher level and more army to fight the guards

2. I have completed Approaching a God, Salad and Happy Go Lucky Blonde.  

3.  I entered Karfaree by bribing the guard with 1000 food

4. I got invited by making the salad, I believe

5.  I did the meat salad.  It was fun locating the ingredients

6.  I haven't found the black market but I seem close.  I tried fighting the guards but need a bigger army.  I ddid a couple trades at the other Market and got good info. I must need to do more trades?  I spoke to a bunch of guards and tried to get Bratishka arrested too but they didn't listen.

7.  I have found all opera pages but I have not been in the opera yet.  They were nicely hidden.

8.  I have not figured out who DoomBringer is yet.

9.  I got the box for Zoryana by giving 1000 wood.

10.  Yes, I have been to jail.  That happened almost right away.  I could not escape.  I did try.  I couldn't click on anything except the man in the jail next to me and got no info from him.  I went to jail by vandalizing the collosseum.

11.  Yes, I tried the gladiator fights but nothing happened. Nothing attacked me.  I didn't have proper tools needed there either.  

12.  No.

13.  Not yet.  I have been to the baths and still trying to prove it.

14.  Still working on this one.

15-19.  Have not gotten this far yet.  Still trying to prove Rayanus

20.  Yes, I have helped the zoo keeper.  I brought him a monkey.  I don't have enough meat yet to feed the lion, if that's what need to be done ; )

21.  Yes, I tried my luck on each wheel at the casino and won nothing.

22.  No.  But I did find someone who said they needed a job.  Hmmm.  I am talking to every character I see and taking my time at this.

23.  I love Karfaree.  I think it adds another element to the game, not so serious, and not war related.  I hope it lasts longer than NK or KV.  All the different branches makes it more interesting.  It's like a real town.

24.  I haven't seen many innuendos, etc.  They are very funny!  

25.  Not sure.

26.  I think they are about right.  Maybe a little harder would be good.  The easiest was getting into the party.  

27.  I liked them.  They were funny. I enjoyed it.  No, they didn't get in my way.  That is how to find valuable clues.

28.  Not too many.  Would love more characters.

29.  I would say it's about the same as KV but easier than NK.  But I am not completed with it yet.  Maybe it will get harder.

30.  I like the size. I wouldn't mind it larger.  If we play for months, longer quests will keep us from getting bored.

      Damaged the coliseum. Talked to the prisoner and tried clicking things but then just waited out the time.

    Not tried yet as my hero and weapon are rubbish, want to try when they are better just in case. A man with a club and grass armour won’t last long against a gladiator!

     Definitely more interesting! Feels like characters are well, actual characters, and like a city, lots of happenings. Loved it when one option with the wimpy guy was to put him out of his misery! The  conversations made me think more carefully about my responses, i.e. killing, lying, as there may be  consequences. Like the humour too, references to men without pants for example! Nice alternative to just  finding bad guys and fighting them….

     So far, more interesting although I have not got too far with the relationship side yet. I like the innuendo and  adult themes, different!

     For me, easiest was cook. Opera is in principle easy – find the pages and am nearly there. Madman and  roses looks straightforward – I will see if true when I fail my flower puzzle enough times. Difficult – who is Mr R as he doesn’t admit who he is I haven’t figured how to progress this one, which seems tied to the domina quest as well.
27.How did you liked conversations with characters in Karfaree? Did they caught your attention or standing in your way? Are they too long/descriptive or good enough? Have you noticed the interactivity of them and various options that are unlocked in conversations depending on certain conditions?
    I like these very much, you warned us they might be conversation heavy but I think it is just right, I didn’t get  bored with any of the conversation bubbles like I did talking to the flower lady , and Gromus previously. I found myself wanting to click on all characters, even workers to see if any could be interacted with. I could
tell my answers would determine the outcome / options so thought about them before replying, I liked this
approach

     It’s a big city, I think there could be more, and maybe some more buildings to interact with / enter. Love the  various alleyways, be nice to find a pub or a shop you can interact at the end of one of them!

29.How do you compare the Karfaree with a) previous main quest locations like Opposition Hideout/Keepers Village/Ruins of New Kyiv. b) original Totem Tribe locations if you played it.
    It’s a nice balance, I still like the others as in general they are linear and you can’t go too wrong. You would  need 3-4 of those to equal Karfaree though I think. The side quests seem shorter – most of them can be done start to finish in the city, not as much moving from one location to another. Maybe there is more of this
and I just haven’t found it yet!

30.How do you like the size of Karfaree in terms of content? Too big / could be split into multiple locations? Too small? Good enough?
     Like above answer, you can complete quests in the one location but I think that’s a good balance to    
    other quests locations NM/KV etc. It would be great if it was bigger with more, similar sized quests  
    not  sure how much work this is though

    I have found lots of comments on several buildings – such as the necromancer, etc – but not a newbie I

Good enough .

And then started 7-9 quests in the same time. Lost my ideas a little bit as I've found 3 or 4 bugs and had to wait for updates.

I would prefere to be an order to discover the 3 locations, starting with KV and Ruins, and then discover Karfaree. Hero need more experience to fight in arena, easy to get in Ruins. Also, maybe after the second town is settle, as long as the market in Karfaree requires some items from there. 

I liked a lot that the quests brings a lot of experience points :) 

Scenario is a little bit more clear now ... and now I am very curious to find out about that God Emperor:)

Good point. I will increase the bribe price from 1000 to 2000 so people won't rush to get inside that much as it looks that the bribe is the way people get in early.

I would like to pointed out something : the discussion with guards may end up with a hard way to enter in Karfaree.

As long as there are 2 quite easy ways to enter, imo the monsters for the 3rd way are too strong ( too much health points). Those monsters needs at least 2 sages + other units to be defeated . Doable in 3 weeks arround for a donator player and/or a despot player, but it will take much more time for the other players playing casual. I think they are penalised in this situation. Maybe other type of monsters will be more interesting, and players will fight them instead of being dissapointed and frustrated cause they cant enter in Karfaree. And they will get experience too , needed in Karfaree for one of the quests.

You are defeating your own point of making Karfaree accessible later with proposition for easier monsters.

Even after finishing KV and Ruins ( plus the second town), we will still need 2 sages and weeks to defeat those monsters.. as the experience accumulated in those 2 locations will allow you to rise up your hero's level for 2 levels maxi ( which is still not enough)  .And I am not asking for dendrogs there lol . It was a suggestion to make things a little bit more fair imo ( says the one who bribed the guards lol )

1. if the main quest is approaching a god, I got into the celebration after 12 days (jack was not there of course). getting the red clothes took about an hour. proving rayanus he is him took several tries. I agree with SteWieh, finding the pages was hard, some were hardly visible.

2. quests done: madman and roses, Who is mr. R., pleasures never experienced, Emperors salad, Natalka-Poltavka, happy go lucky blondie (she is standing next to Zweistein now), room 1 and 3, fought in Colosseum. none failed yet. not finished yet: room 2, damsel in distress and finding info for the jester, although my quest say I completed this one.

35.  Just a few comments, graphics and content is excellent as usual, but I have to say I am a little disappointed that the story line did not move further forward. A lot of the side quests were fun and interesting, but to me they were almost added to fill it out and do not appear to be relevant to the storyline, this maybe because we will have to return to Karfaree many times in the future. I think we access Karfaree a bit too early as it is very demanding on resources, but not sure how this could be solved, just making it further away so we find it later is not the answer I don't think, but not sure what is.  Unless you have to have finished something else first before you can find Karfaree.  It is still an excellent addition to the game.

Since Karfaree is so complex it is ok if you submit the Survey multiple times, one if you have beaten it the first time and again when you have managed to beat it well, maybe even with multiple plays using various characters.

We have had similar surveys for the:

• Opposition Hideout
• Keepers Village and Ruins of the New Kyiv
• Anomalies
• Caves
• Dungeons

They were quite helpful so if you havent filled up those, it would be great if you will do them too.

Some questions to those who have at least completed main quest of Karfaree (Approaching a God):

1. How long did it take to beat the main quest? How long secondary quests? Answer:  A few days.  I had to change clothes first and did not realize I could get in using my default costume. 
2. Which quests have you beaten and which failed or decided to skip? Why?  Answer:  Who is Mr. R,  Approaching a God, The Emperor's Salad, Natalka-Poltavka at the Opera, Pleasures You Have Never Experienced, and Happy-Go-Lucky Blondie.  Haven't skipped any yet.  I have no more to do.  I was told the gladiatorial games are closed for the year so no fighting there and I don't have Lucy.  I am working on the guy who wants roses and getting the zoo filled.
3. How did you get into Karfaree?  Answer:  Bribery
4. How did you get invited into the party? Answer:  I made the salad and acquired another invite from singing in the opera, which I was able to do once I got the information about the actress.
5. Which salad have you done for the chef? Answer:  The first salad.
6. Have you gained access to the Black Market? How? Answer:  Not yet.
7. Did you take part in the Opera play? How well did you perform? Have you received a mask? Answer:  Yes.  Spectacularly lol.  Yes.

11. Did you take part in Gladiator fights? How did you perform? Did your performance there affect your interaction with other characters? Which ones?  Answer:  No.  They are closed for the year.

13. Did you manage to prove to Rayanus that he is himself?  Answer:  Yes.
14. Have you helped Domina to return to business? How did you convince Rayanus? Answer:  Yes.  I fed the wee piggy.
15. Have you tried the Domina's girls? Have you tried to work at Domina's? Which client have you got?  Answer:  Yes and Yes.  I got Rafaella and Michelle.  My intellect is not high enough to work there.  Pfft.
16. Have you revealed the true story of Domina and how she become in charge of her house?  Answer:  Yes  I think so.
17. How you revealed the story about Domina and Ignavus? Answer:  I told her she couldn't lie to me so she spilled the truth.

19. Did you become physically intimate with other character in Karfaree? Which one?  Answer:  Don't rightly know.  I think Domina's girls actually do perform physically, but to be honest, it didn't thrill.  How about some men working there?

21. Have you tried your luck at the Casino Square? Won anything worthwhile? Answer:  Yes.  Won a manual and a trommel.
22. Have you found Lucy? Was she a good or bad girl? Have you helped her to get a job? Which one? Have you kept in touch with her to see her progress at her place of work?   Answer:  Not yet.
23. How did you like more serious personal themes in Karfaree like gender relationships, intimate innuendos, options to become closer with some characters? Did it made the story and overall atmosphere more interesting? Less interesting?  Answer:  I think they add to the story and make it fun to decide how to answer the questions in the dialogue.
24. How many gems have you found in Karfaree?  Answer: More than half I think.

20. I have talked to the zoo keeper but he did not want the dog I had with me. I gave the penguin some fish but did not have enough meat for the other animals. I am still working on that quest.
21. yes. I won a Devil in Disguise or a Mask of the Many, I think, but not entirely sure. I played twice and did not get anything in my first try.

23. I do like it, as it has a mysterious side I find appealing.
26. I found The Emperor's Salad and Happy-Go-Lucky Blondie easy to beat. Regarding the hardest ones, I think the ones I still have active since I haven't found a solution for those yet. Active quests are: Natalka-Poltavka at the Opera, Zoo Look, Who is Mr. R? and Pleasures you have never experienced.
27. I do like the possibility of having many choices and different results, depending on what we choose. But dialogues are not really my thing. I do not have much patience for that and many times I end up just clicking in any of the sentences available.
28. I haven't met all of them, so can't really say.
29. All the other locations (and original Totem Tribe) have characters, dialogues, quests, finding hidden objects... But Karfaree does that in an unique way as we, players, are really a part of what happens there, due to our choices. That is a great improvement to the game!
30. So far, I thing it's good enough. We get lost when we first enter there, as the place seems huge with so many things to do. But we get oriented after a while.

34. I still have many things to do there. In general, I cleared the fog, talked to everyone I saw, picked up everything I could find and clicked buildings and other objects. I started many quests at the same time and I am still working on them. The first quest I finished was the blondie one.

So i went to karfaree with two heros, but the first hero didn't get very far as it was set to delete and i wasn't developed enough to do many of the quests.  By the time my second hero got there i knew a few things i needed to do, so i will answer what i did for my second hero.

1.  I beat the main quest in a couple of days, mostly because i went the easy way and got into the palace with an invitation from the chef.  I'm still working on some of the secondary quests, i can't do one of them at all (madman and the roses) since i do not have a garden in my domain.

2.  I've finished Mr. R (my lover), Pleasures, Cheeki Breeki, Emperor's Salad, Pleasures, Blondie, Approaching a God, and the opera quest.  I haven't failed any as yet, and have to wait before i can finish a few others.

3.  I had to fight the worms (was really bummed about this because i was excited to explore, but then got locked out with my main hero until i was strong enough for worms...boo hoo).

4.  I used the invitation i got from the chef.

5.  I can't remember the exact name of it, but it was the one with the fish and the wild cabbage, i think? 

6.  I did manage to get into the black market by bashing the guards. 

7.  Yup, i was amazing (no surprise there, right?).  I got a comedy mask. 

8.  Well, we know the Doom guy killed the girl who was supposed to be in the opera.  But that's about as much as i know as yet.

9.  I got the box with coins and wood.

10.  I did go to jail.  Found a secret there once i was released, and no, did not try to break out.  I really want to go back again though...fun times!

11.  Yes, i did do a gladiator fight.  I died :/  I believe it opened up a new quest with the guard there, though...the famous Hextor! 

12.  I haven't figured out the huge secret yet, unless there is somethign i'm missing.  I'm still working on helping out with his quest.

13.  Yes, my lover finally admitted to me who he was.  I mean, come on, he had my name tatood on his arm, LIKE I WOULDN"T KNOW!

14.  Domina is back in business.  I convinced her to hire a pretty dumb girl especially for Rayanus, so that he would agree to let her reopen. 

15.  Ok. So here is the story about my experience with the lovely Domina and her house of pleasure.  Yes, I did experience all three girls....I found them quite boring, but we did have a member in my alliance who found his experience there quite titillating.  As for working there myself, originally, i was thinking maybe i should dumb myself down by using potions with the hopes that maybe Domina would use me and i could reunite with my lover Rayanus....but.....i didn't have enough potions to get dumb, and didn't want to wait until i had enough, because a friend told me that completing this quest netted 20k in xp.  So i went for it, and had a pretty 'hot' date with fabious or whatever his name was.  I wasn't really into it, i just said all the things he wanted to hear and stuff so that he would be really happy and i could get my hands on that xp.  But omg, so disappointing when it was all over, and the idiot wanted to marry me and everything and all i got for it was 2500 xp total.  Bers, it's so not nice how much you reduced the xp!!!! :( :( :(  Special thanks for the telling of this story goes to Norm (the furry yeti ho lover who had a very 'satisfying' afternoon one day at domina's, if you know what i mean *wink* *wink*), and Aylint, who convinced me to sell my body for a measly 2500 xp :(   I really wish you could go back again, and maybe then i could be dumb enough for my love, Rayanus.  I'm also sure Norm would love to have a few more go's with the yeti.  :)

24.  Personal themes, pretty funny, and we've had a few good laughs in the alliance...but seriously bers, we are learning and awful lot about your ahem...personal tastes...lol

26.  The easiest quest was the chef salad.  I found the black market a bit difficult to figure out what you needed to do to get there.  And of course, although not really hard, there are a couple that require a lot more time than others, (like hextor's quest, and the flower guy). 

27.  Yes, we are trying to help each other in the alliance trying to figure out what unlocks what.  I think arya mentioned before that it was better to go to karfaree later on, and this is true, since you have to have a relatively advanced hero to finish some of the quests there.

28.  I am someone who always wants more.  Yes, it was nice there was more there to do than other locations, but omg, i really want more :) :)

29.  Karafee has really changed the game a bit more....like you said, no more 'innocent' little Teya, lol.

34.  Well i'm not entirely sure if i've 'beat' it or not.  But yeah, i guess the main thing is trying to level up your hero enough to get the conversations you need to complete the quests.  Personally, i think the 'main' quest, getting into the palace was too easy, since you could get there with the cook.  But i guess i'm confused, because i'm thinking that is all there is to it, but yet, i still haven't met jack of swords.  So maybe there is something i am missing, and i guess i'll have to keep going back to find out.  I think this is the part that is unclear....there is all this hype to meet jack, to get into the palace, but once you're there, he's not, and i currently do not have a quest to actually meet him, so i'm not even sure if this is something that has to be done yet or not.  So, if the 'main' quest is to actually meet him at some point, then the 'approaching a god' quest, which opens up as soon as you get there should not be closed so quickly after speaking to the jester.  I could be way off base here though. 
Anyway, overall, well done.  A bit frustrating sometimes trying to figure out how to get some of the same conversations friends were getting, but i guess it will become easier once we've done it a few times :)  Ty all so much for the fun, good job team.  Merry Christmas :) :) xoxo

2. Still stuck with the Opera and the Market quests , not sure because I am not enough intelligent / strong/charismatic or because is a bug... Opera : the last entry I have is that Barishka was the last one to see Disidiana.. But, previously , I've decided  to report to Rayanus about him.  Now Barishka is telling me "sneatch...whatever" . But Rayanus is not giving me any option to report him about Barishka. So, no idea how to get the hint about what happened with Disidiana ( and yes, I've spoked with all the dudes in the street ). Market quest - quest is still active, I didnt fail it, but Barishka is not giving me any options to speak with him  ( again sneathes got... whatever lol ). I've managed 2 days ago to break the neck of the guards in the market and now  I have  one new  entry in the quest tab:  that I have to inform Barishka that he is safe now. But the last entry for this quest is that i've decided to report him to Rayanus... So, no clue :-((( 

I will fix bratishka so he will allow the quest to progress even if you snitched on him.
