The most difficult part was gaining entry to the banquet...not because
of the invite, I already had that, but not being let in due to what I
was wearing. I hated that it was based on how much charisma I had. I
spent a lot of wasted time looking for something to wear.
Charisma is not required, you are indeed need to wear something decent, but having high stats like Charisma allows to pass alternatively.
I was level 6 and started in the stone age. The only clothes I had available to me were my stone age starting clothes and my first level classical clothes. I tried every combination...I even had someone trying to help me and no matter what I tried, I was not able to enter. It was only when I re-skilled, upping my charisma, that I was able to enter, otherwise I would have been waiting forever in order to acquire second level classical clothes.

Hello, I'd like to know more about what exactly 'darlings' I have, if possible. I'm not an english native speaker, so some help would be useful :)
Hello. Sorry for not replying until now. I can't give specific examples as I don't intend to go back to the location at the moment. I do recommend the mentioned research on the expression/principle, if you aren't familiar with it already. And not sure what to add, really. As mentioned before, opinions seem pretty devided here. Some find all/most of the dialogues fun/entertaining, others very boring, lengthy. I for instance remember them being yappy (too much palaver, too much back and forth), so I'd take a look at how that could possible be reduced a little, without loosing what you want to keep in there (but again, I'd take a hard look also at what needs to be in there, what is fun, and what might just be too much, doesn't add etc). One of my teachers, when looking into details, single lines/sentences etc, always asked "would you spend $50 to have that line/sentence in there?". The idea behind that is to question how much it is "worth". If you do that line-by-line, you sometimes end up quite surprised on how much you end up not wanting to pay for = cutting off :) On how to identify "darlings" - if you do it on your own, you need to learn how to look at it as if you were another person. That takes practise, since it's kinda schizo. Alternatively, you can gather a small audience and discuss certain passages. Or set up a kind of survey, by choosing some passages, marking examples that e.g. you think are awesome and asking how others like it, by setting up yes/no questions (do you find this line funny/witty/entertaining or whatever) + giving the readers space to explain why/why not. There isn't always right or wrong, it's of course subjective, but it helps to identify tendencies and you also learn a lot about your readers/audience and their likes/dislikes.

I refrained from replying to this thread because honestly I don't have anything positive to say - but since you need the feedback, maybe you should hear also from those that didn't like it. Well, the only thing I liked is graphics - superb as always. What I didn't like: - most of the quests, except maybe cooking which at least kept me occupied looking for items. The rest mostly involved going back and forth between charaters, clicking on their talk, scrolling through endless blubber and going back to a different one. Clicking again, scrolling through pages of nonsense and going back to the previous one. - the talks itself and the quests "content". Maybe it was meant to be funny, but to me it sounded like a frustrated teenager high on hormones. There are games where long dialogues are witty and funny with so many "deep meanings" but that was FAR from it. Seriously, I'm not interested in who did what with whom. If that was one quest it would be ok and even funny, but it seems that everyhting in K is focused on it - the "nonlinearity" of quests. Really? What does it matter if I finish the quest with Domina one way or another? Say one thing or another? It's totally pointless and doesn't give anything in return. I definietely will not go many "alphas" to check the different endings. Surviving it once was bad enough. - the fact that solutions to quests in a large part depended on levels, stats, etc. I like to solve things with thinking, not waiting. In this game you have to "wait" to achieve everything else - buildings, army, etc. Quests for me was this part that you play when you wait for everything else to finish. - the main quest. The story doesn't go forward an inch. Pretty much you only check whether you've finished the other 2 locations and that's it. Nothing new, no new information on what's really going on with God Emperors, your role or anything really. Nothing to keep me waiting for that next location. - the fact that the center of the town remains black if you don't do things in the right time (which there's no way to guess in advance) - make it a sub-location, like the caves underneath. Otherwise it spoils the only good thing about K - detailed graphics of the town - quest rewards. This is maybe a more general suggestion - I very much liked the items you obtain from the dungeons quest and anomalies. Here, after all the suffering reading pages of monologues and going back and forth you don't get anything of worth. Maybe more one-of consumables? In all - a huge let down after the long wait. After a few initial visits, finishing a couple quests I didn't go there except to the black market (and it's usefulness ran out pretty quickly). I seriously hope the next location will be different, but after my initial interest in the quest part of the game and waiting for new main story locations, now - if this is the direction the game is going - I'm definietely more interested in new side quests.
I second that emotion :) It feels like it was just stuck in there as a second thought and isn't in sync with the rest of the storyline. The gratuitous sexual references are just that, gratuitous, and serve no purpose.

I see some people didn't like sexualized bits of conversations with some characters and I totally understand that. It was meant to be completely optional and should be buried deep in the conversation, so only those who are really into it should uncover those bits. However it looks like we failed at burying them well and more often than not they are too much "in your face". Being said that, it would be helpful if players would describe or screenshot places in the conversation where personal/sexualized bits are uncalled for - we will absolutely rework them to be less intrusive, but we need your help to determine when, as not being native English speakers it is not that easy to understand from this side.

Yes, because Charisma unlocks alternative way to get in. There are numerous ways to get in the party, just like in many quests and conversations of Totem Tribe 2 there are multiple ways.

Isn't this what makes a game 'good', though? To have puzzles or things in them that you need to figure out before you can progress, rather than having everything handed to you? If you are really impatient, or are the type to have everything spelled out for you, you can always ask in local, there are enough people in game that have figured out these secrets by now and would be willing to share in pm.

- How long did it take to beat the main quest? How long secondary quests?
Main quest took me a few days. Secondary quests are not all completed yet, but those that I managed to beat took me usually about a day each. Except for the opera one which took me ages since I didn’t feel much like talking to every single person - Which quests have you beaten and which failed or decided to skip? Why?
I haven’t failed anyone. Almost skipped opera one until one day I was in the mood and talked to nearly everyone to get info on Disidiana. Still working on Hector and de Demonic seal. - How did you get into Karfaree?
Via the tunnel - How did you get invited into the party?
Chef’s quest - Which salad have you done for the chef?
I think I did the meat salad, but not quite sure anymore - Have you gained access to the Black Market? How?
No :(. Can’t figure out how to - Did you take part in the Opera play? How well did you perform? Have you received a mask?
Yes, spectacular and yes - Have you figured out who is the Doom Bringer?
No - How did you get the box for Zoryana?
Yes - Have you been to jail? What did you do to get there? Have you tried to escape it?
Yes. I destroyed colosseum on accident. Did try to escape, didn’t know how. - Did you take part in Gladiator fights? How did you perform? Did your performance there affect your interaction with other characters? Which ones?
No - Have you uncovered the big secret of Hextor? Have you helped him with his quest regarding Necropolis?
His big secret? Not sure. I found several messages but speaking to Hextor reveals nothing about them - Did you manage to prove to Rayanus that he is himself?
Yes, it took quite awhile but I finally managed. Talked about tattoo, scar, singing while drunk and nervous tic. - Have you helped Domina to return to business? How did you convince Rayanus?
Yes. They compromised. Not sure what I did. I was stern and I guess I used my intellect and/or charisma - Have you tried the Domina's girls? Have you tried to work at Domina's? Which client have you got?
Yes I tried all girls. I also worked and got that creepy dude that’s way to full of himself (Fabious) - Have you revealed the true story of Domina and how she become in charge of her house?
Domina revealed her story. But there are some puzzlepieces missing I think concerning Ignavus. - How you revealed the story about Domina and Ignavus?
Not yet. She’s not being honest about Ignavus - Have you dated someone in Karfaree? How did it end up? Why?
Yes. I went on a date with Fabious. He wants to marry me, I declined - Did you become physically intimate with other character in Karfaree? Which one?
No - Have you helped the Zoo Keeper? How? What about the lion?
Yes. Was unable to save lion tho - Have you tried your luck at the Casino Square? Won anything worthwhile?
Once. Wasn’t worth it so never did it again - Have you found Lucy? Was she a good or bad girl? Have you helped her to get a job? Which one? Have you kept in touch with her to see her progress at her place of work?
Doesn’t ring a bell. I guess I have some more exploring to do - How did you like more serious non-personal themes in Karfaree like corruption, murder, crime? Did it made the story and overall atmosphere more interesting? Less interesting?
I usually skip most of the dialogues - How did you like more serious personal themes in Karfaree like gender relationships, intimate innuendos, options to become closer with some characters? Did it made the story and overall atmosphere more interesting? Less interesting?
It was funny, but also a little random - How many gems have you found in Karfaree?
Not sure how many, but missing 4 in total - How hard were the quests to beat in Karfaree? Which ones were the easiest and which ones - the hardest?
The easiest was probably chefs salad, or maybe the roses. The hardest would probably the black market or the opera one (with first finding all pieces of paper and then talking to everyone) - How did you like conversations with characters in Karfaree? Did they catch your attention or standing in your way? Are they too long/descriptive or good enough? Have you noticed the interactivity of them and various options that are unlocked in conversations depending on certain conditions?
I liked how you could talk to every single one of them, but I felt like there were a bit too many useless characters. Text were nice and short so that’s good. I did not consciously notice they changed their text under certain conditions, but I vaguely noticed they said different things at the start compared to midquest. - Were there too many characters in Karfaree? Enough? Too few?
Too many useless ones. Also a bit to many questgivers (at the same time) maybe as it was sometimes confusing who to talk to or whom I had already spoken too etc - How do you compare the Karfaree with a) previous main quest locations like Opposition Hideout/Keepers Village/Ruins of New Kyiv. b) original Totem Tribe locations if you played it.
A little too chaotic. I like that it isn’t just linear gameplay, but sometimes I was truly lost on what to do next. So maybe a tiny bit more linearity would be good. - How do you like the size of Karfaree in terms of content? Too big / could be split into multiple locations? Too small? Good enough?
Not necessarily too big, but could be split in multiple locations or make it so that not all quests are available at once to give us a bit more structure - Have you found a trace of another unlucky newbie? (Easter Egg)
Awh no - Did you feel extremely lucky or extremely unlucky because of your actions (Easter Egg)
No idea what you’re talking about - How many secrets have you found in Karfaree?
None I think? - How did you beat Karfaree in general? Specify your progress there in siginficant steps / key points.
Karfaree felt a little bit like grinding. Not very interesting things but took a lot of effort/walking/searching.

Since Karfaree is so complex it is ok if you submit the Survey multiple times, one if you have beaten it the first time and again when you have managed to beat it well, maybe even with multiple plays using various characters. We have had similar surveys for the: They were quite helpful so if you havent filled up those, it would be great if you will do them too.

The survey’s not intended for me as i haven’t done the required quest (and possibly won’t as i’m a walkthrough dependent player and there’s none here) but i just had to spill it out somewhere that the opera performance was absolutely hilarious! The prologue act made me laugh my ass out. Is that real Lysenko’s music? Pure awesomeness and a feast of creativity, if the person who made this ever abandons videogames industry for some reason, they definitely should try directing in musical theatre :)
