Your Totem Tribe game is really great - it has lots of depth, varying challenges, it's got a ton of people hooked, and gets good reviews on many sites. So what the heck is up with Big Fish - to not even have you on the top 100 much less top ten?
If you think this an inappropriate post, I apologize and of course you can remove it, but it is really bugging me that such a high quality and very popular game is being treated as such.

Ok, since I talked about it in some public places, I can reiterate here.
First of all we try give our builds to all portals at the same time not to offend anyone. We don't give exclusives to either party, we already did that simultaneous release back in the days with Svetlograd without much problems.
We did it the same way as before this time - I provided BigFish with build around the same time as other portals, they just didn't released it with others. And this is actually weird considering that Big Fish has the fastest QA/Deployment from my experience. I have a feeling that they are just too loaded with exclusives that they don't care much about non-exclusives anymore.
Therefore GameHouse released it earlier with ad-sponsored option. BFG got offended that GH released it earlier with ads and told me that due to this fact they will drop this game. Since Totem Tribe was already too far in Q&A pipeline they decided to release it anyway but to choke it's promotion. And this is exactly what happened - 2 days after release when game reached #13 in their top 100 list on it's own, they choked it and hid away from all lists and pages buried it deep under the pile of other games.
Honestly I don't think it's fair but it's their protal and they have right to do whatever they want with it. Personally I doubt we will release future games on their site.

Well, thanks for answering, Berserker. That clears up a big mystery, and it is an unfortunate situation. BigFish is losing out, and it seems they shouldn't be so wrapped up in exclusives as to cut off their nose to spite their face.
Be that as it may, your game is great, and it seems to have positive and wide spread press, so it should do fine anyhow.

And when people ask me what is up with BFG, I only send them a PM, so then the mods can't delete the post. Several people on the Totem Tribe BFG forum have asked this question. Also, it is interesting when people put a basic question on the open forum in regards to Totem Tribe, the mods throw the discussion on the Totem Tribe forum and they don't let it stay on the open forum. Normally I like BFG, but in this case, I don't.

I own a lot of games, that I've purchased from BF. I am going to write a letter of complaint. Something I have never done with them. I've never even asked for a game credit on any game. I've always figured I get the games for a good price and they can't fix what's wrong with them. But, I really get irked when I see someone being mistreated. This is a good game and they should not only be proud to host it, but they should be happy that so many waited for it to come to their site to download it. I wouldn't give up on them just yet though. They really have a great group of people that work over there. You always end up with one or two people in a company that could care less about the reputation of the company.
Umm wait a sec it is in the top 100 or am I missing something?

Am I beginning to imagine things?:o
It wasn't so long ago I saw TT as number five in the charts, less than two weeks I think. (unless it was on another site)
Besides my sanity, I'm now worried about the old eyesight. I cannot see TT anywhere in the 100 BF game charts.:eek:
Like Cyberomega, I am a loyal member of BFG, have been for many years.
This behaviour is distasteful particularly when they're putting games in the charts that we all know have had loads of complaints.
I initially downloaded from Gamehouse but got fed up with the ads. Big Fish lost out because I ended up buying the game from Enkord.
Berserker, doesn't this encourage you to get going with TT2? :D

Yes, thank you. This it why I think we will sell sequel directly only if we are about to develop it. And this is why we encourage people to sign up here on forums or subscribe to our mailing list. If we will be able to gather good fanbase here it means that it will be easier for us to recoup initial invesments in development of further games in the series since we will be able to notify our players on release right away and if they purchase from us, we will receive full price instead of small percentage we get when game sells on other portals.
And honestly we will need to bring here all the people out there who enjoyed TT cause if we are to develop TT2 it will be bigger and better in every way :)

It's still listed as #55 under strategy games. I saved it as a MHT file for you. I did send BF a letter also expressing my concern for how you were treated.
Are you talking about the top 100 for all games? I think that is where I am getting confused. I only check each category. Like if I'm looking for a large file game. I go to large files and see what people like. I could care less what are the top 100 games selling on BF or any other game site because there is a new game released everyday, so of course the newer ones are going to be at the top, they've just been released. I don't even bother to look because that doesn't tell me what the good games are. Just look at all the problems with some of the newer games. Mae Q West for example. It's listed as #2 on the front page for the top 10. Yet the thread is full of complaints. It's riddled with glitches and they only bothered to fix one.

Yes, I was talking about top 100 list and other places. Of course it is listed in generic categories but not under prominent spots, just somewhere deep. This is what I means when said "drowned". It was drowned right away while other games usually get some prominent spots at least in subcategories let alone front page.

Then I guess we need to get other's to sign up over here. This is one of the few games being put out today that is worth paying full price for. They haven't answered my email to them, yet. I did tell them that it makes them look like the playground bully's. That it leaves a sour taste in players mouths when they read stuff like this, that is then passed down to other players. They have to realize that players talk amongst each other on other boards, blogs, forums. That I'm very disappointed to be reading these posts.
There was no reason for this behavior at all. I really hope they at least apologize to you.

I don't think they need to apologize. It's their portal and they have their own content strategy. Apparently they are more focused on hidden object and in-house or exclusive games - it's their choice. I don't blame them much cause it's life and it's business, but it makes us thinking about other options.

Although I enjoy getting a bargain price for a game (don't we all?) and will continue doing so with BF, Totem Tribe is one of those games we think it's well worth paying the full amount.
Kudos to FairyonPegasus for writing to BF, I hope they reply soon.
You are spot on with the suggestion of recommending this site to everyone we know (Gaming friends of course):D
Hats off to Enkord for showing a caring side to this community and not being
faceless like a lot of Developers.:cool:

Big Fish did contact me and they assured me that they were going to be contacting you. So I sincerely hope you're able to work it out with them. I personally think BF has a great group of people working over there. I also think you've gone above and beyond to try and keep your customers happy, to ensure everyone is able to enjoy the game.

I got Totem Tribe on iWin. I had no problems with it and, since I found iWin, I dropped my account on BFG. But, if you guys do decide (please please please!!!) to put out a TT2, I'll buy it full price or discount. I am so hooked on this game!!!

What I purchased from you was supposed to be version 1.1, and it is not! I sent a message to this forum yesterday and haven't gotten a response, and don't know how else to contact this company. I just paid for the game Svetlograd from this site for the extra levels, even though I already own version 1.0 purchased from BFG. What I purchased from you was supposed to be version 1.1, and it is not! I sent a message to this forum yesterday and haven't gotten a response, and don't know how else to contact this company.
