Usually I am not very favorable to posting public videos of the game because the game is in the very rough and un-presentable state and might leave wrong impression about the game, but I guess the game will be in that state for a long time so no point in hiding it that badly. I am fine with your videos as long as you keep the link to the game website and will make an explicit announcement like this: WARNING: this is footage of a very early ALPHA-version of the game which is far from final quality. |

I agree. Plus this video is trying to show too much too quickly resulting in a very confused idea of this game. Better to give a 'teaser' of a small part of the game. |

Why? I don't remember anyone asked since I don't know, alpha 1? Now taking into account we are inviting more and more people and the game indeed has something to show since alpha 1 it may actually make sense and drive some people in. Plus the more people invited, the less control we have over such type of content - this player asked for it, but another one could just post it without even asking. Sure I could ban him in the game, but that will not make videos go away. ALLOWING is actually a very strong word. Accepting the inevitable is more accurate. |

Making a good teaser is not as simple as it sounds. I don't expect anyone to make a good teaser on their pure enthusiasm and we have not time/resources to do that because we are busy with the game, plus currently the game is not open for everyone anyway. |

Well we did ask about it in the beginning of alpha 3 when we wanted to be more serious about starting a wiki for the game. I guess I am just disappointed that you did not ask some of us old timers to do it, if you wanted videos out there. I have only been waiting for permission to make some: |

Sorry, but this is the first time I hear about wiki, and I haven't asked this player to make videos, he just did that without asking prior to making it and I was put upfront to the choice whether to prohibit it or let it go right now. |

I've did a search and yes, there were some random talks about the wiki, but nothing serious and in those threads I have not prohibited people to do so. I was not been asked for any "official" allowance for either videos or wiki in a long while. |

I think it is time for something to be put together by way of a guide to playing the game. As new players come in they are continually asking the same questions in the chat because there is no such guide and the forum has become so large now that it is difficult to find things, particularly if you are not really sure what you are looking for. I had assumed that was what the Wiki suggestion was about at the time. In any case, I think it is time for players such as Tuey, Honey and Simba to begin creating such a resource. The problem with that is, of course, they would also need to commit to keeping it updated as changes are made to the game. As to the video, You Tube is certainly a great vehicle to spread the word and give people a feel for how the game looks. Players who are experienced with other games as well would likely be best placed to make such videos to highlight how Jotun differs from those other online games. |
