Buildings in Totem Tribe 2

Buildings in Totem Tribe 2

Since we decided to add resources into Totem Tribe 2, it's also a good idea to reconsider building side of the game. Building is nice and relaxing phase where you can enjoy watching your village grow, people wandering around and so on, but it might be tedious to do same thing over and over on each level. Therefore we decided to make things a bit different.
First of all there will be more buildings than in TT1. Way more. Also you will be able to upgrade each building more than once (not just towers!) and each upgrade will look different and will be more effective. For example barracks will house more warriors, towers will be more powerful and so on.
Second, buildings from one level will be useful on another one! No more need to build smithy over and over just to upgrade your troops.
Finally, even your army can be transfered back and forth between different levels! You will be able to train troops on one level and send to another level to fight!

There are many islands in the game. So, why do not use the boats to move between the islands, use for the merchants or some missions. Hope TT2 will have boathouse or something like that

TT2 will not be on islands, it will take place on mainland.

it will be bi-dimensional? I don't want you to overcomplicate the game controls ... just the map (i really wish the map and the hidden places to be the image of a whole new world, unexpected and interesting...and big)

I hope there will be away to tell which building is where, or get to it quickly? it would suck to have to search around trying to remember where you built something. I love the idae of being able to upgrade eveything versus the old way of just getting the upgrades with completing certain tasks.Just want to make sure also there is away to tell if you already have a certain type of building, since sometimes I would inadvertantly build two of for example smithies not noticing that I already had one until later.

"Finally, even your army can be transfered back and forth between different levels! You will be able to train troops on one level and send to another level to fight!" This is interesting! I like the idea of training troops on other islands in order to unlock things on islands you've already done. (Like the divers)

Also, I hope the puzzles and gems don't get lost in these new building/troop ideas. The main reason I liked TT so much was the combination of building/strategy/puzzles, none of them overwhelming the other.

There will be plenty of puzzling/item hunting, no worries. In fact we plan to make the game so players will choose their own playstyle and focus on things they like the most. People who like puzzles will do puzzles, people who like to build will focus on building, people who like to fight will focus on fighting. Of course you will not be able to forfeit any of those, but you will be able to minimize things you don't like much and focus on things you enjoy.

So your goal is to create the supreme game :) How much time do you think is going to take until we will be able to play it? I suppose it will be more than a year.

Definitely not in 2011. I hope it will be 2012, but don't treat my words as a promise. The development process is still shaping up so I can't tell how long it will take. We want to release this game as much as you want to play it, that's for sure.

That is so great!!

i like the pixelated puzzle the best at the pyramids. "In fact we plan to make the game so players will choose their own playstyle and focus on things they like the most." But Can i do everything? I liked everything in ttg, the building, puzzles, wars, everything i want to make everything
