Today we are celebrating yet another birthday of Totem Tribe II: Jotun! It feels like it was only yesterday, but exactly two years ago we launched the ALPHA 1 version of this game with couple of dozen lucky (or not so lucky, taking into account state of the game) testers to try it out. Now we are at ALPHA 5 and the future looks quite promising. Let's pause for a bit and recall what has happened during this last game year. After our first year we had a similar thread - so those who missed it can browse it here. So - what were the major milestones of the past year? - ALPHA 4 was launched on the 8th of December, 2014. We had planned to launch it before Christmas but we did so quite in advance. The Alpha stages were larger by this time - the new Medieval Age made the game significantly larger and more complex, not to mention all of the smaller updates in-between Alpha launches. Aside from Medieval Age. which was the big thing for Alpha 4, we had also launched a new world map with separate large continents. More new players were invited in Alpha 4 so the community got slightly bigger. Old news post about Alpha 4 launch.
- Random Caves were added on the 13th of May, 2015. While not as large as the Alpha launch, I still consider it a significant update with the amount of work involved, (we had been working on it on-and-off for almost a year) and taking into account how much time people spent (and still keep spending on it). Liked by some, hated by most, it still keeps people busy and does not get old so quickly because of it's random nature. I bet a lot of you haven't met both bosses in those caves yet (wink wink). Old news post about Random Caves launch.
- ALPHA 5 was launched most recently - on the 31th on August, 2015. It has been our largest Alpha launch so far in all aspects. It is the largest in terms of people started, in terms of new content added, and even in terms of donations (thanks a bunch!). This Alpha not only added all-new Renaissance Age - which all of you are yet to reach - but also the all-new snowy climate, and the towns became more varied with puzzles, quests, enemies, and mini-games.
- Other noteworthy updates: There were numerous features added in-between Alpha launches that were slowly shaping the game. New espionage system, ability to lend world resources, protectorate functionality, artifacts, treasure hunting, item crafting and other manipulations, war trophies, and many more. If you want to review the last year in detail, take a look at our news section and update log.
This has been yet another crucial year for us. Thanks to your support, even with a limited number of players the game now has an amount of donations that allows us to pay wages to the team, server and office costs, etc. I have even hired a new person to help me with quest locations - so hopefully new content will come out a bit sooner. Your support has been greatly appreciated. To celebrate today's Totem Tribe II: Jotun birthday, everyone receives gifts in form of Supporter's Key, Truce Proclamation, non-expirable Thank You Package, and 3 Lucky Coins. Speaking about the future - despite all of the accomplishments, there is still a lot of work to be done. First of all, I estimate the game completion is now roughly at 10%. The large story campaign is only in it's infancy. There are still 3 large Ages missing, the game interface is clumsy garbage, and a lot of features are barely working - unbalanced and unpolished. And finally, the game community is very small. We have no choice but to grow it for the game to succeed. Now everyone post your most memorable moments of the year! :)

I only started sinds alpha 5 so I don't know how it looked like in the beginning but it seems to me you guys have reached so much! When I read about your estimated game completion of 10% I can only wonder what the future will bring. I'm excited! Comgratulations on this anniversary, celebrate with each other and don't forget to be extremely proud of what you've done so far!

Thank you for the lovely gifts and congratulations! I am a big fan from the original Totem Tribe and played the old Alpha which was very small and sent in my report and just kept checking your website for news. Then you guys invited me to Alpha 5 and it has been great! I can't believe it is only 10% complete, that gives me lots of joy because I hope this game takes a long long time to finish. So I guess my most memorable moment of the year was when I finished the tutorial again and continued on. It was so exciting to go off into the fog and find new things. I love collecting things so the gems made me happy in the quest locations. Thanks again and keep up the good work. :)

Congratulations and thanks so much for the presents.
Only 10%, when I look at the game I cannot believe it. But this makes me hope that the game will grow and that there will be more space for everyone, so that we can grow and explore, instead of being caught in between other peoples properties which means we can expand peacefully.
Hope you keep growing and will be able to pay wages and to hire more people.

Wow! Only 10% completed? That is amazing. I can't begin to imagine what the finished game will be like. Congratulations on reaching this milestone and being able to pay the staff!!!! I was invited to play part way through Alpha 4 and got to see the launch of the cave quests (where fore art thou stalagmites?). I admit I was skeptical of the social aspect of the game at first, but now I have made friends all over the world and couldn't wait to get back into an alliance this alpha. Thank you for the gifts!!!!

I have tried to think about my most memorable moments, the problem being it is all starting to run together. I think I will instead touch on some of the things that have kept me playing. The number one thing is the artwork. The buildings are stunning and always I am wanting to see what they will look like at the next level. I like exploring the world uncovering the fog of war. Seeing the world resources and the creative names of kingdoms is a very interesting thing for me. The army units also interest me with their diversity and I must say the knights are so far my very favorite. The other thing that keeps me playing are the friends I have made in the game. It is interesting also for me to watch the forum and see what other people are experiencing. I am truly feeling honored to be apart of testing this game and being involved from the very beginning. I thank you so much Enkord. Here is to a Happy Birthday TTII Jotun and I hope many more.

I have loved Totem Tribe since the original came out and have played each up to now. I have loved everything about it from the game play to the story itself. I will be sticking with Totem Tribe: Jotun as long as you keep making it. The community of players is awesome, nice people that will answer (or hint) to the questions being asked. The amount of development from update to update is exceptional. I have nothing bad to say to it at all. Just keep trucking and making an awesome game for people to play. Thanks and also a great big, Happy Birthday!!

Happy Birthday indeed, and many congratulations to the Enkord team. I have taken the day to consider the most memorable moments and I agree with Tuey and the things she said. It would be easy to say reaching Classical for the first time then Medieval for the first time, and admiring each new piece of artwork, I especially like the knight and the castle. On a personal note, when I first started the game I could not imagine the need to talk to anyone, having never played a MMO before. Then I joined my alliance, and my eyes were opened and I was stunned by the maps and the friendships within the alliance. Then I started speaking to people I traded with and my neighbours. I have travelled so far from that not wanting to interact with people to now when it is one of my greatest pleasures. At the end of Alpha 4 with loads of horns to spend, I took to starting amusing conversations on cc, and getting as many people involved in that as I could, it was enormous fun and I cried with laughter at times. Now I just need to restock my speaker horns... so watch out ... I will be back on cc!

First I would like to join everybody in saying thank you for the gifts and Congratulations on your birthday/anniversary and for all that you have created and accomplished here on TT2. You are truly an imaginative and talented team. I would also like to repeat what has been previously mentioned - the experience of seeing new buildings for the first time, watching them develop and become more elaborate as I upgrade. I have my favorites. The artwork is exceptional. So are the landscapes. What are some of my most memorable experiences? Settling an island (or two), building the Wonder, finding dragons!, I love the artifacts, and I must say many of the most recent game additions. Looking back on some of our posts from one year ago I am reminded of what a different game this has become. Truly an accomplishment. Congratulations again on another Birthday celebration.

Forgot to add my most memorable moments: I'm not playing that long but allready had some nice experiences. Most memorable are mostly the first times. Finally reaching the classical age, new buildings, new clothes! Building a second town and discovering all the extra's I've gained there. Finding the chisel and the torch. And let's not forget, getting my flowers to turn blue. Still not managed them to go red, but it keeps me busy and I love it!

Happy Birthday and thank you for the gifts. As has been said, with each new stage the artwork just keeps on wowing. This game has come a long way since I started playing in Alpha 2 and the additions have been fun as well as sometimes frustrating. It has all been worth it so far and expect I shall feel the same on your next birthday :).My most memorable moment---well there are 2---watching trebs in action for the first time and getting 25 plus players together to attack you Bers lol.---- The fact that we could get that many players together in a cause says a lot about our community :). Great job team and thank you.

Happy Birthday to the game! I know it must feel good to see your idea be shared by so many dedicated players and then watch as the game progresses to each imaginable level. I can't fathom how many more levels you can create as the thought of whats currently available is already awesome. But the last year has been so much fun. I really enjoy the new puzzles, caves, items, etc. etc. Thank you for sharing the gifts :) This game has been many things to me, new friends, new adventures, but the thing that stands out the most this past alpha is the influx of opinions and players working together with excitement! It truly feels like a home game! Good luck in the future endeavors and again, Happy birthday Jotun! Thank you dev's and everyone else who helps to make this game worth keeping!

It truly feels like a home game!
That's exactly the point of this game :) We want to make the game where you'll want to "live" and it will never get old.

Happy birthday and congratulations! Thank you for all the gifts! I can't believe I've been playing this game 2 years! It is crazy to think a game can hold my attention that long. It has been an honor to play as a tester and watch the game evolve. The game keeps me coming back. It definitely has a magic touch. I look forward to checking in with all my peeps every day. I treasure the friendships I have made in the game with people from all over the world. The last year kind of runs together for me, but I think the introduction of Med. Age was the most memorable. The caves were also exciting and new, although I didn't get to explore them as much as I would have liked. One thing I remember when I first started testing was when I couldn't find Herald's Home. Yes, I posted on CC asking how to find Herald's Home. It was in A2. I kept looking for it in my domain. LOL! Yep. I could solve any puzzle but couldn't find HH. (Still can't do a screenshot either.) So to all the newbies, we've all been there at one point. Great job to the team! I look forward to what's to come.
