Season's Greetings!

Season's Greetings!

As Christmas and Winter Holidays approach we would like to make a small present to our devoted fans who still wait for Totem Tribe 2 release. No, this is not the game release unfortunately, we will make an announcement regarding the game state a bit later, but hopefully this little present will be enjoayble too.
Totem Tribe 2 will take place on planet Teya and we've created a detailed picture of this planet and made a wallpaper for your desktop out of it.
Here is the small portion of this wallpaper:

To download full-size wallpaper for your desktop please open this thread on forums.
In the actual game you will see this planet image in the very beginning. When you start the game - you will be asked in what part of the world you would like to start your adventure - you will be able to pick Moderate Grasslands, Tropical Jungle, Equatorial Desert, or Snowy Tundra.
P.S. If you decided to put that wallpaper on your desktop - we would appreciate if you let us know about that in comments to this news post : )
P.P.S. Facebook Cover Photo added too.

Thanks An81angel, Such concerns like yours was very important for us to understand what players want and what kind of issues they usually run into - it will help us to make a better game for everyone. Merry Christmas to everyone!

Wow, it looks huge! Looking at the map I have a question. Whether a player will play inside a chosen climatic zone only or I can travel through the whole map switching between zones? It would be great to explore the whole planet without restarting the game in a new zone. I am really looking forward to play TT2!

You only select zone where you first village will be. New villages could be in different zones if you could reach them (the planet will be huge).

Since the title for this blog post is Season's Greetings, and since this is going to be a year round mmo ... will the game include limited time only, special release holiday themed quests and items? Exapmle - Santa's Village Quest ... yeti's are invading and destroying the toys and decorations. Our hero must help to save christmas. When the quests for that holiday zone are complete we earn a special reward. Reward could be a holiday building to use anywhere (now that it has been unlocked). This building could be an Elf's Workshop, and it might include a certain number of elf workers plus a boost to all worker production. I love the holidays. I love it when mmo's incorporate holiday themed events into their game. I would love to be able to build holiday themed towers and buildings all year round on my islands. It would be a lot of fun for me to have a little holiday area for each new island. Other holiday reward ideas: Cupid's Tower - shoots love arrows that stun enemy for 30 seconds. Cupid's Tent - a building that produces a certain number of cherubs that can go into battle stunning enemies with their arrows. Easter Tower - painted eggs get tossed at enemies. Halloween Tower - carved pumpkins get tossed at enemies. Giant Jack-O-Lantern - a building that boosts all witch doctor's a certain amount. Jack Frost Tower - cold wind blows at enemies turning them into harmless snowmen for 30 seconds. Note: The holiday towers would be a separate building from your normal game towers. you would have to earn a holiday building to unlock a holiday tower option. The basic holiday tower wouldn't do anything until you chose a holiday theme, then the tower is converted to that theme. for instance, you would need to build a cupid's tent to convert a holiday tower into a Cupids Arrow Tower, and you would need to build an Elf's Workshop to convert a holiday tower to a Jack Frost Tower. Thanks for listening to my idea!

Like that idea An81angel. Having read all your posts I think I might like to be your neighbour/alliance partner, we seem to think on the same lines ;-), and as I havent played MMOs I could do with a more experienced player to help me get the hang of it.

Holiday themed events and stuff are always great, but we have to make the basics first :) We have only so many hands to do all the planned stuff.

I am really looking forward to this.. ! Wallpaper looks great. I am playing TTG again (what else can I do as I wait for TTII?) and it is just as enjoyable the 15th time around. (Ugh I am a hopeless fan) I check in here several times a week to see if you have posted a release date. I am anticipating the new game will be great fun.

How many characters can I create on a single account? I am addicted to character creator, and at present I plan to make 14 different characters. 1 female for each of the seven startup locations, and 1 male for each of the 7 start up locations. Will I be able to do this all on one account? Most mmo's have a set number of character slots, and if you want more characters you have to create more accounts which is annoying for me. DCUO and Tera let you create as many characters as you want on one account, which is why I really enjoy those games. DCUO also has a unique way of doing their item mall and inventory that I love and wish more games would emulate. Because DCUO lets you have as many characters on one account, that gives them the ability to distribute an item mall item to everyone on that account. Basically, you buy one item mall item and it is good for every character you ever create on that account. Will TT2's item mall be the same? Also, you said that TT2 will be playable Solo, I absolutely love this, but I wonder if it will stay that way? most mmo's gradually get harder to play as an individual the higher your character's level gets, and when that happens it makes the game less appealing to me personally. I don't mind if an island is tricky to beat, just so long as it is beatable on my own without buying any item mall items to boost the odds in my favor. Yay, 2013 is just around the corner! Happy Playing!

In GUNROX (our other online game) you can create 3 characters, but when your character reached level 10 or you deposited money at least once on it you receive another character slot. Totem Tribe 2 will probably be similar in that regard. However the game will be designed so that it will make sense to play few characters but several times over. See, unlike other MMOs this game wont be endless. It will have a clear beginning and an end, therefore we will be allowing to restart the game and play it in a different way after you finished it carrying over all your achievements and maybe some items. Considering that there will be at least 6 completely different endings (where you have to play whole game differently, not just making different actions in the final mission like in TT1) you will have a lot of stuff to do and keeping fewer accounts will be more beneficial.
