Is it just my imagination, or does the Shade King on the Ruins of Dreamshore level heal himself of damage taken, and if so, how can I get him to stop?

Hmmm, I have never noticed him heal before. I kill him too fast. Build thunder towers in the area with the King Shade. They tear him apart.

Yes, it has regeneration. You need bigger and more powerful army to make more damage that he heals.

except of the thuneder towers, make sure first that you have visit the "lost temple island"and that you have taken the possibility to build the "hall of mysteries". I couldn't defeat him too because i went streight to the chapter that you are..i didn't noticed it. hope this is helpfull, otherwise...sorry

I haven't figured out how to build those thunder towers. But you know what? I did manage to build 4 arrow ones and little by little I did kill him. So my small army and four towers were enough to get ahead of his regeneration. :)
