Suggestion for Inventory "Extras"

1 2

Suggestion for Inventory "Extras":

I, like a lot of players with multiple heroes, find I have extras in my inventory that another hero of mine is desperate for.  Now I know we cannot pass things between heroes because of idiots who abuse the system.

So my suggestion is to create a "Shop" - not like the market where you put up the items you do not need and ask for what you do - again because it is open to abuse.  Instead, how about a system like the Merchant, where you select the item(s) in your inventory that is not required and then select the item you want and trade them in the same way as you would with the Merchants Badge (or something similar).

Certain items are more valuable than others, so there would have to be grades i.e. Grade A might be for things like Blue Prints and Figurines of Enlightenment.  Maybe Grade B for things like Fireworks and Grade C for things like Potions.  So an A Grade item can be exchanged for another A Grade item, maybe be even 2 x B Grade items to get an A Grade item.  A Grade B item for another Grade B item etc.

Good idea! In the course of time Inventory gets overflowed with items you don't need and in the meantime someone desperately needs something you don't use.

I love Dordiana's suggestion.  :-D  I would love to exchange some items for others.   Like my encylopaedias or treatises that heroes who are done researching have in inventory.

to me this idea still seems like cheating. Using multiple heros to provide items to other heros.

Hero farming as Bers calls it

I did not mean passing items between heroes - each hero is treated individually and exchanges the items in the inventory that are not required for items that are required.  As per my example of the Merchant.

The multiple hero part is just the frustration part of knowing one hero has something that another hero is desperate for!

I would also like to see an option to be able to exchange items a player has little or no use, for items that are scarse and nearly impossible to aquire elsewhere.

A simple solution would be, that the shop could buy items back from us for some residual value, lets say 20% of shop's price. If thats too much, even 10% would be fine...  At least over time we could afford a few blueprints, figurines of enlightment etc. this way...

My hero is stuck at lvl23 ('43 available') for months already, since i havent seen any figurines since then (not from wheel, monsters, chests (spawned, fished) nor any of the 7 caves...)

Obviously i wont be able to meditate my hero any higher, unless something is changed... and i very much feel im not alone here...

I think Dordiana's idea would be great and I love Savipats suggestion also. It's frustrating not being able to level up and it would be awesome to be able to exchange/sell items I don't use for figurines or other helpful items. :)

You probably mean the numerous multiple copies of the same equipment items :) Those will run out pretty fast once we will add crafting.

Overall the idea behind this is reasonable, and indeed we have something along the lines planned. The main idea is to get rid of items you don't need to get something you (maybe) need.

But things will not be as lucrative as you think. It will be more like: you trade multiple items you don't need for a random item which may be useful or maybe not so. And ofcourse no exchange among different players or even heroes of your own.

That may well mean that after trading in thousands of items we still wouldnt get even one of the kind we were looking for, right? Does everything has to be random? Perhaps give us some way to work towards the item we need

More tabs, filters and a faster way to trash stuff from previous ages would be good, for inventory. http://imgur.com/bFk1Hs2

You can use the idol of disassembly to get useful minerals and crystals for them.

I was looking for faster ways, of dealing with unwanted gear, to tidy up inventory, therefore making it easier to find your wanted gear.   Or more tabs/filters.  Those red circles are ugly.  I also offered suggestions, on possible ways to fix this.  Thought of another one, duplicate gear, one picture, plus how many you own.  Once it has wear, then it could have it's own picture.

To prove your point, please submit a detailed report, with appropriate pictures to demonstrate your methods and results.  We need to know how many items and how long it took you to smush things, what ores and crystals you received and the steps involved, in using the idol.

Then maybe a report on using crafting idol, the level of your crafting perks, a tally or list of your results (include failures).  Then there is the enhancement idol.  I have done a heap of testing, I am gradually working my way towards submitting a more useful report, would be great is others would give it a try.

Being a technically challenged, mature tester, I have been learning to do this using "paint", "wordpad" and "Imgur."  I am sure a lot of you could do a much better job than me.  If you detect a hint of grump in my posts.....

A "hint" of grump? I was trying to be helpful to you and you insult me instead.

It is easy to put gear into the idol of disassembly. And how many/type of mineral/crystal depends on many things, such as if they are enchanted and what level of enchantment. There is also the risk (random) of destroying something.

You can currently break it down by where the item is worn and I see no problem with the current system. I am very able to manage my gear.

There is no need for a spreadsheet to prove my point. My point can be proven by anyone using the idol. It is not that hard.

Sorry, but I think Mary doesnt need to proove her point...She just wanted to help, offering you a solution to clean up your inventory. Each player must clean up his own. And, considering my own experience, the only viable solution it's to do it almost every day.  If not, is obvious that is very difficult to clean it once you have douzens of items of each type. You have 2  options : either rid off useless stuff or using idols. You have to test by yourself the idols, to see if you get any interest from them or not, if it is tedious or not, which one you prefer and so on... Each player has differents stats / perks regardless their own level.

In your hero page, you can see all the items for your hero, by type ( head, legs, shoulders..) , so, you have to note from there how many items of each type you want to rid off and then go to dismantle idol or just throw them in the rubbish, up to you.

Btw , no need to be agressive when someone is offering some advices to help, even if, in your opinion the advice is useless. Just take it or leave it ... but is better to do it with a smile :-)

Her short reply seemed to miss a lot of what I was trying to say.  It seemed she hadn't followed the link.  Not everyone likes or trusts links, I haven't been trusting them myself, until recently.  So I felt I needed to explain it further, for the link-shy.

No doubt the developers can clarify for us, what a good, useful post is.

I reserve the right to grump, at weak replies.  If you can't take a little grump, think carefully about what you post.

Anonymous is bringing up the valid point - inventory screen is clumsy and needs to be reworked. The reason why it is not yet reworked is because we haven't come up with an idea which will be marginally better than what it is now.

Most of your recent updates concerned the reworked of all the interface ( which is really great btw ),  so, it was obvious for me that sooner or later the inventory will be reworked too. OK, if you want to, we can think about this and bring up ideas on how to make a relooking to the inventory...
