Tools and obstacles

I saw a list in a post that listed the animals we might encounter and what they eat, I thought that was very helpful. Can we get the same list for tools and what obstacles they can be used on? I know some items have more than one use, but that doesn't seem to work on the obstacles I have tried and I misused the items like pickaxe, hammer, etc. for instance, can I used the jackhammer for anything else than increasing stone production? and what do I do with this gold key? what is Pysanka?

Thanks in advance for any guidance.

and I would if I knew, so far all I've done is increase stone production by trying items where I thought they would work. So if it looks like a duck...its not necesarily a duck !

I realize a list might be handy, but at the same time ...

I mouse over a tool and it says, "Allows to extinguish moderately weak fire"

I mouse over another tool and it  says, "Allows to break slates of medium strength"

Then I find slates, and the slates say "This obstacle looks to be of medium strength." Tada! Something fits together.  (Gestalt would love this.)

The obstacles and the tools have great explanations built in. If the fire is of strong strength and I don't have a tool that says, "I extinguish strong fire" .. then I just keep looking. :) Do I actually need to go look at a list to figure this one out?

Thanks for the sarcasm, Just what's needed...I can read , but in a earlier post, don't remember the author, it stated that other items could be utilized for those obstacles, even if their propose was not that...that is what I'm asking for. if an item for a specific propose can be use for something else.

they changed the dual purpose since that post you read so it is no longer an issue. That is also when they added the description of what the tool could do.
