As I visit the diffrent monster dens I often have wondered why can we actually keep everything we get including the food. We battle the monsters and many times lose army units and/or our hero in the process , just like it would happen if we plunder another player. So why not have the same benefits? Why not carry out what we can when we defeat the monsters?

Sorry, misread it the first time. I like to use food in dens to feed animals, troops. Where a den drops a lot of food, I upgrade camp, so it can hold most of the food dropped. Then rather than bring the food home, I send the hungry mouths to the dens. There are workarounds, for most things in the game. P.S. when food runs out in dens, troops don't starve, the just return home to the nearest town. PPS, maybe traders could collect, from dens, caves, quest locations?

Wow, that would really demotivate new players. Maybe for the bigger dens/higher level heroes.
How so? She is talking about bringing home some of the food in her own Dens. Not going to others. You go visit a den kill monsters, fill the warehouse with food, and carry it home when you leave.

You cannot take resources back from quest locations to prevent using them as storages. With such a large number of quest locations players would be able to accumulate too large of an amount of resources too easily and it would ruin the balance.

Hi. Adding to this thread as nearest to question I have.Anonymous states that troops 'don't starve when food is used up' in dens, they just return to the nearest home town.I left a small amount of troops in Dendrog to use up food last night after clearing it and only sent hero home. A report 6 hours later states that troops returned as food ran out. Last battle report shows 4 sages still alive (Report #1242844 details... ) The report showing which troops returned home ( #Report 1249662 details....) shows only 3 sages. I was able to retrain another sage so obviously one died somewhere ................A fellow alliance member states she has had this happen as well but only a couple of times. Is this a bug or do troops sometimes die in dens if food runs out?

Troops return from the dens when food runs out, but if they return to the town and there is a negative resource income in that town (more food consumption by troops than food income can cover) they will start to die out of starvation in your town when food will drop to zero.

The sage 'disappeared' from Dendrog Lair so no issue with food in my towns. My last attack report shows 4 sages are still alive, the report showing all troops retuning as no food left 6 hours later, shows only 3 sages alive.

As far as I'm aware, the in-game games don't need to be solved in order to progress in the game. Lots of those players who don't like, or struggle with them just ignore them. Solving them can gain experience, or "prizes" of some kind which are useful, but if you ignore them, they don't get in the way of any further progress. I'm assuming you're talking about things like Tesla, the flower garden, Billy Bonka etc.

I experienced the exact same thing as Paula: i had sent my army to eat to a den yesterday, there were 3 sages. When they ran out of food, the army came back but with only 2 sages. My last battle report indicate that 3 sages were alive at the end of the battle, so I'm certain that i sent 3 sages in the den. As i can't retrain my sages anymore, i'm very frustrated… :(

Thank you SuperNad for confirming that this has happened to you as well. I'm still waiting for this to be addressed. I guess the advice to everyone is not to leave 'certain' troops in dens to use up the food for now until it is confirmed if this is a bug or not.

Just a quick shower thought. I have no clue if this is possible/easy to do, but perhaps making it so that if the food level in a monster den gets a red bar behind it, which I think it does when you are above 80-90% food capacity, monsters stop dropping food pickups until the bar turns yellow again. And for a extra bonus if this idea turns out to be possible and the Devs feel nice. When the bar is red, the food pickups are replaced with science pickups or other small things instead. Anyone else think this is a decent idea?

How about upgrading your camp so you get serious amounts of food if you need to send your troops to feed?

Hi. Hi. Just wondering if the devs have looked at the reports here and let me know what happened? Was it a bug?

When I go to clear out dens and the food level is at its max, it just leaves the food drops on the ground and you can pick them up the next time through. I usually only send food the first time I send troops. then I just pick up the drops to feed the next group of troops I'm going to send later.
