Apocalypse suggestions

I have not been through the apocalypse myself but various members of the alliance have. We were talking about how disappointing it was!

We were hoping for hellfire and brimstone and a lot of drama - apparently none to be had, so we got to chatting.

These things may be impossible to implement but some of he ideas we came up with were to have a final battle. All types of monsters descend upon the hero to destroy - a final glorious battle! We also thought it would be cool if different characters from the game joined in - either for or against us, depending on the choices we made in the game.

I really like the idea of a final glorious battle, but especially against a Shade/s

Sorry devs but I am not enjoying the current version of the apocalypse, it sounded good initially but the reality is quite different and starting "The End is Nigh" with ... over 50 days ... still to go on the hero is very depressing and instead of encouraging me to hurry towards a victory it is having the effect of making me not want to play those heroes at all any more :(.

Totally agree with you, boring and depressing, and you want us to play till the very end, give us a reason to.

As I posted before, I agree totally.  It would be much better to keep it abstract and to the game's story by having it be related to the Shades.  Constant fire is depressing and I can only imagine how folks in the areas around the world having severe fires feel.

I stopped playing my hero after she was in the "End is Nigh" stage. Having the little messengers of doom lingering in town was cute at first, but wore thin as time progressed. There was no incentive to get something other than a Victory done. The Victory I tried for was the Cultural. I found it too elusive to figure out what to do. I had a few hints from others who heard from others who obtained the Victory, in other words, second hand. The brightest Rainbow in 5 towns was what finally got me to quit playing my hero with the End approaching. I totally destroyed my main configuration of buildings, which meant no army nor Towers, to try and get the population to culture to the correct ratio to get the Brightest Rainbows. The psych aspect of this End was depressing for me and left me with no incentive to try after a certain point.

I went back to my hero and played the last few days of the Apocalypse just for fun, to see what amazing End was coming. I did many silly things, like rebuilding items that had been destroyed. By doing this I obtain several achievements, like building 10 Theaters, Opera Houses, etc. The cool new kinds of do-over prizes to use, like going up 1 whole level in a building or hero level were nice. Otherwise, I was underwhelmed by the End after the long drawn out warnings from the messengers.

As an aside, I think by abandoning my hero, Kierra was able to get a wall down 5 levels for her War Victory. I was glad to help in that regard.

I was wondering if perhaps the dying heroes can gather consumables beneath the fires and crystals of their apocalyptic towns to take with them for the next incarnation.  As it is the smoke in town is just an annoyance with nothing to make it more interesting.  Incentive to put out the fires etc would make the player feel like they are actively taking part in something rather than awaiting death with nothing to do.

Awaiting death with nothing to do is your personal choice. Others might pursue victory.

I am pursuing victory lol it's still a nice incentive to get rid of fires and crystals.
