Suggestion - light beacon puzzles

Sorry to say that I hate the light beacon puzzles. There is no overall view of all the beacons and if you find them there is no way of knowing if they are facing the correct way. Is there a possibility to -for example- give the beacons that are faced the correct way, a glow/colour change so you know that that one is correct? So in the end there is a nice shiny amount of correct facing beacons to light the final one, so you can finally finish those xxx dungeons. Did I mention I hate the light beacon puzzles :( ?

I second that emotion :)

That would make them super easy to do. Puzzles and games should have some challenges to them.

I'm with thetis - don't make things too easy.

The beacon puzzles are my favorite, it may take a bit to walk around but I find them totally interesting. Please do not make them any easier.  The only puzzle I skip is the first one, I can never figure that one out.

I hate the beacon puzzles too!  Would be nice if the light beacon would travel as you move objects, that way you know where you are going.

I think that the beacon puzzle should have a guiding light, perhaps able to turn off for the smarter of us :)  but for me, I just can't do them, so that's a HUGE part of the game I'm missing :(  Please developers, please just give us this little bit that we can do on our own, without having to ask everyone :)

Anyway, it was just a thought :)

I agree completely! I hate the beacon puzzles as well and I do not like that I miss a huge part of the game too. It should be nice if we had a skip option for a penalty/fee or if the beacons were lit.

Agreed!  I like what you say, a penalty or fee, or even better for me, a light that guides the beacon, cos then I'd think I'd still done it :)

I find the beacon puzzle frustrating although I am able to them most times. What I dont like the most is that often the correct item its not in a straight line with the previous item. I like the idea of light towards the item if its the correct one. Or even a beam of light from the item you go from to the intended item. Anything will enhance this puzzle. My 2 cents

Do you think 'they' will listen Valkyrie?  I really hope so, because it limits so much of the game for me (and others I would have thought lol)

I have found that objects needed are not always in line with each other. Sometimes they are off a bit and that makes it confusing if there are decoy objects nearby.  I try to remember that the objects are supposed to be at right angles to each other but if they are off line I can see how it is difficult for people to figure out.  I would only suggest making sure the objects are actually in line with each other instead of on a diagonal as sometimes happens.

Respectfully River, you are speaking as someone who can do these puzzles, I'm talking about the numpties, like me, whose brain just isn't wired that way.  I can do some puzzles in no time flat!  Others take time, but these particular puzzles are impossible for me (and I suspect, others) to do.  All I am asking is that at least the developers look at these particular puzzles.  I am not even asking that they look at the ones in the Mines, I couldn't even attempt to do those :)

It would help if people would report those diagonal cases.

I thought that was intended.  I did not realize it was a bug.   They are only slightly to the diagonal not like a 45 degree angle or anything like that.  However,  I will make sure to do that and post screen shots in future when I come upon those instances and you can make the call with full information.

The beacon isn't that far off the one in TTG in Shark Archipelago (my favorite islands I think).  It took me time to figure out these beacons and get used to them and with the steam puzzles I had to work with someone and then do them on my own before I got the hang of those too.  It's not like they were intuitive for me.  :-)  Just remember to clear all the fog for the steam puzzles and close all vents with pipes showing before you even start to do the puzzle.

It is MILES away from the one in TTG, I don't mean to be disrespectful, but it is, you just have to find them in TTG!  It's no good you saying it is easier than it is, to those of us who can't do it, it's not easier, in fact, it is much harder than TTG, it just is what is :)  And by the way, the ones in TTG I could do, easily :)

I think we need to agree to disagree and leave it at that :)

then you don't do the steam puzzles in the mines either I bet, since they are the same idea as the beacon.  Once you understand the idea they are easy to do.

Sandy, I have to disagree with you on this one. The steam puzzles in the mines are always on a straight path, the objects for the beacon puzzle are not. In fact that's what makes the beacon puzzle frustrating, the issue that often  the next item is not in a direct line with the previous one.

I don't even bother with the beacon puzzles...I just don't have the patience and I hate wandering around.  I would love it if the light would light up when you move the pieces, that would at least give us a fighting chance
