Recently we have managed to translate the game to Russian and now I am considering options to translate the game further. I am considering trying to translate the game to German next, because from what I know, strategy games are very popular in Germany, but most of the players don't know English well enough. The biggest problem is budget - the game so much text that hiring professional translators (especially native speakers) would cost us impossible amounts of money, considering that we are a small indie developer. With Russian translation we have hired students, but since we speak Russian ourselves, we edited the results and got decent translation on a modest budget. Unfortunately we don't know German to do the same with German translation. This is where we need help from players. The plan is to hire local students again to translate and then have German players to proofread the results. I am making this thread so players willing to help us with the German proofreading would sign up here. The more will sign up, the less text would be per player and considering how much text there are we need a lot of help. Therefore if you are willing to help - please let us know and post here! We need only veteran players though, who know the game well enough to understand the context, so only those who play at least 6 moths are preferred, so post how much time have you playing the game already. If you don't speak German, but know TT2 player who knows it, would you kindly send him/her a link to this thread?

Yes, we would provide Excel file with English and German lines side by side.

I have to say that I think you could really stand a resumption of the English proof reading too. :-) I am still finding things that could be corrected or amended. :-)

Thanks to everyone who is signing up, I have to clarify though - this is a volunteering effort, we will not be able to pay you, only putting your name in German credits if the translation would be a success.

Thank you! If we will succeed with German, surely we will try other languages next. French is one major candidate for sure.

Then maybe Freddydelanuit can already translate what he sees in the game (tech tree, some dialogs, items...) in files on his computer so he will just have to copy and paste those when you give him the files to translate ?
