Reading the headlines today, it appears that Moscow aka Putin might have figured out you all are not going away, not going to let them walk in and take what they want. About like having 20 towers and the highest wall possible in Jotun. Nice going Ukraine, and to your leader Volodymyr Zelensky, if I could vote to keep him in your leadership for life I would.

Sorry to disappoint you, but our president is a shitty leader and has 0 merit in our war success so far. In fact he has been cutting army expenses and canceling defense programs during all of his run. It's because of our army and regular people who are willing to fight till the end we are standing strong despite government doing everything to surrender the country to russia until recently. President is a professional actor though (his career before electing as president), and he is putting a good show for the rest of the world now, so in that regard he is helping our cause well to win the information war. Now the people are united in their will to win the war and government have to play along, but still they (and some Western officials) are trying to shill the idea from time to time that we need to aim for "peace", while in reality aiming for peace is basically surrendering, and actually we need victory, not peace.

Well, not like it changes the fact that he isn't perfect, but did you had better in the past ? From what I know, you had/have, an actor, a boxer, a chocolatier, 1(well I know just the last one but I guess you had a lot of these) pro-russian, and a woman that got jailed by this one, I don't know if she deserved it but when she was free your people preferred to elect the chocolatier rather than her again. In France we currently also don't have a politic professional, he's a banker, which, in theory should have helped for financial things at least, sounds still better on the paper than just a "culture" person. We had real politicians before, but they more or less ends up in jail lol, so can't really say they were better.
If you feel like it, please tell other things about your country, history, what you think, even a lot if you feel like it, I would read it all, I'm interested. I also can say a lot if you want, in fact since the war started I wrote a ton of things on my computer that I'm not doing anything of apart from rereading it, about pretty much everything that it seems only me notice, like hypocrisy of all politicians, bad journalism, even things like, while in no way I support the war, I realize how putin can be that much supported inside his country (censorship and propaganda doesn't do everything). I also noticed some "tactical" things when I see armies/citizen fighting.

You are mixing presidents, prime ministers, and capital mayors all
together. Boxer was and still is a mayor of our capital. Lady was a
prime minister once and got jailed by pro-russian president after she
lost an election to him, but she has a small group in parlament right
now (I do not trust her). The "chocolatier" as you call him, was a
president before this comedian and he became a president soon after
russia's invasion in 2014 right after revolution overthrown the
pro-russian one. While there were questions to him, he was much better
than current comedian. The chocolatier turned out very pro-Ukrainian and
pro-Western, because of him we actual have a proper army right now.
Before him there were degraded remains of an USSR army. Now it's
relatively modern and motivated. He started numerous defensive programs,
army reforms, etc. Also he managed to form an independent Orthodox
Church here which was a big success, because Ukrainian's orthodox church
is a subsidiary or russian one infiltrated by KGB agents that was
founded by Stalin. That was quite important becase Ukraine is the
biggest Orthodox Christianity country.

while in no way I support the war, I realize how putin can be that much supported inside his country (censorship and propaganda doesn't do everything). I also noticed some "tactical" things when I see armies/citizen fighting. It's not just putin. Russia was like that all the time. It has a long history of tyrants, Ivan the Terrible, Peter I, Lenin, Stalin. As you can see, putin is nothing out of too ordinary if you continue the trend. And majority of population support him, no matter how some people are trying to distinguing putin from the rest of the russians, because it is frightening to realize there is a nation of over 100 million bloodthirsty people. The faster the rest of the word would realize there is no "good russians" like there were no "good germans" during WW2 and whole nation is responsible, the better. As Joseph de Maistre said - "Every nation has the government it deserves". To back that up here we have a lot of hijacked calls (in russian) when their soldiers call home to their spouses and mothers and their mothers and wives only encourage their soldiers to kill our people, civilians, everyone, they encourage plundering, make requests to steal a new phone, tablet, kitchen machine, etc. You people from the west probably don't realize how barbaric average russian is, because even if you contacted russians yourself, those were probably from civilized cultural minority (if it knows English) and does not represent their savage majority who's national idea is "while sitting in deep shit themselves try to drag the rest of the world in it".

I did read an article, at the start of this invasion, about the Russian Orthodox Church wanting to bring the Ukrainian Orthodox Church to heel and that Putin's invasion was in part, for the soul of the country to appease the Russian Clergy and look like he has some mandate from God. Amazing, that wars between Christian sects still happen in this day and age.

This is pretty accutate article on russia and putin motivations about Ukraine: https://www.wsj.com/articles/vladimir-putins-20-year-march-to-war-in-ukraineand-how-the-west-mishandled-it-11648826461?mod=e2fb
You get no argument from me. It started when Ukraine was made to "return" nukes upon liberation from the Soviet Union, IMO. That goes back, what, 30 years?

It took me a few days to realize, but I'm now more enlightened by your reply: I realize now that most people (seemingly quite less in this game) are sadistic. What you described, russian plundering/capturing towns, at least is strategic, but wasting ammo just to kill defenseless people or even torturing them, is just for sadistic people to have fun, and I would say that not just russian but a lot of people would do this too if they didn't risk going to jail for that, first I was bullied hard for years when I was at school because no one prevented them doing that, then I remember when I was playing World of Warcraft back in 2005 that, while in TT2 the 30 day rule isn't perfect, it's awesome compared to what there was in World of Warcraft: a level 60 player could spend his day killing in one hit ton of level 30, laughing at them and spiting on their corpses (yes, you really had slash commands that do that), and in fact most people did that, and I really feel that those people, in real life, would also be the ones that kill if in the same way they wouldn't be sent to jail or better yet were even asked to do it. In your country, some enemies might not do it, but with some vodka they let themselves do it.
I was reading the chat from the game a few days ago, and there I realized that I was probably the only person that attacked other people only for strategic reasons while other do it only when they want to annoy someone they don't like. TT2 isn't like a chess or football game, it's not about just a few hours on a game with only one goal: win, it's a game where there are a lot of solo locations that require an army and a hero with high enough level (which requires spending real life money for people with a job and child I guess), being destroyed half way there creates a real suffering just like if your facebook/e-mail account was hacked forever (and the money invested that doesn't allow to access last locations is lost, like if in real life someone stole your phone), or like some people are if you were "cyber bullied" on facebook, sometimes up to making the person kill himself (which for some bullies, is the goal).
TT2 isn't a real life simulator, but it's more than just a "game", looking at how it is inspired by real life, it isn't surprising that some things can happen in the game as well as in real life, that the stronger does what he wants, simply because he can, sometimes to steal, sometimes as a preventive attack, but actually sometime, just for the fun of seeing someone suffer. I though many times since years that, while I sure am an unusual person, if everyone was like me, there wouldn't be wars.

Yes, western journalists more often than not tend to "forget" that in the early 90's we gave away third largest in the world nuclear arsenal in exchange of territorial integrity warranties from USA, UK, and Russia. 30 years later one of the warrantors invaded our country, while other two only supplying defensive weapons in modest amounts and with a delay of 8 years (!)

I agree that we did not hold up to our end of the bargain, in the USA. I too, am very sorry that we did not. It is wrong of us.

The US is pushing "land-lease" for Ukraine now though, so maybe they will be sort of doing their part eventually :) If they don't want to fight on our side, fine, we will do it ourselves, but throw all type of weapons in absurd amounts our way :)

Bers...I agree. The US and other countries did not do what they promised when they asked Ukraine to give up their nukes. It was wrong, it is wrong and will always be wrong. Leaders, countries and people should be good to their word always. I am just glad to see when you post because I know that yall are safe. Take good care. What I see on the news makes me sick to my stomach to think that humans could do the kinds of things being done to the people of Ukraine.

It's been couple of weeks already since russian army retreated from Kyiv Oblast (State) so you shouldn't worry about me personally. Sure, there are still missiles flying and there is a slight chance they will invade our area once again, but that chance is tiny - they have suffered a lot of losses already (almost 20000 their soldiers dead), so they are trying to achieve limited success in the East and South first.
