Culture and expanding

I was wondering if  it is  possible to say how much  culture is needed per cell on the worldmap to expand a village

Its not possible to sya a number culture per cell.

But with more culture (fix numbers) the circle of your domain grow. But if you have neighbors both culture important to define borders and the cell for you or not. If you have more towns there is an area both of your circle overlap.

To built new towns you need a chieftrain hut of level 10 and a gathering point (don't forget to explore Expansion). At your gathering point you can built settler (one per level of your gathering point). If your settler is finish you got a new icon by select your town with settler inside and so got the option to built a new town inside your domain. But for every new town you need a special size of your domain. If you built additional settler this domain-size could be less 3 per settler. For example 2nd town needs 1 settler and a domain of 40. If you have 2 settler you just need a domain of 37 and so on. Later you can built a gathering point in your other towns to. So you also can reinforce your settler of other towns

2.Town need 40 cells (-3 cells per additional settler)
3.Town need 92 cells (-3 cells per additional settler)
Culture

0 = 1 cell
> 5 = 5 Cells
> 40 = 9 Cells
> 55 = 13 cells
> 90 = 21 cells
> 108 = 25 cells
> 125 = 29 cells
> 160 = 37 cells
> 195 = 45 cell
> 215 = 49 cells
> 250 = 57 cells
> 270 = 61 cells
> 305 = 69 cells

I don't know why but I got the 25 cells at 108 culture points already.

I did it as all of my towns was bigger, so i just looked at all towns i saw and try to reduce the needed culture level for every next step. Because of the fact you can built houses with 2 or 3 culture it could be it was at 108 and not 110

I can confirm all you need is 108 points for 25 cells.

I update my posting with this outdated information.

I add some more tipps for expanding there:

2.Town need 40 cells (-3 cells per additional settler)
3.Town need 140 cells (based on stage1 but maybe it is changed now)

I am currently at 198 culture and have exactly 43 cells. Perhaps they've tweaked these figures since last wipe?

43 is impossible because this wouldn't be a circle, if you have a neighbour so maybe your domain is smaller as they could. It seems you have 2 less because of this.

Is there an easy way to count up culture?  I don't see it listed in stats, but have been counting the culture from each building.  Am I missing something?

A suggestion - I noticed a red X appears in any spot that I cannot send a scout to. Is there any way to put an X of another color on spaces that I have already sent a scout to and he is on his way? I did find the arrows ... (clever) but arrows can't be used when placing the eye on a potential discovery spot. If I am sending several guys out at the same time I tend to send them to clear one general area and I am afraid I will duplicate.

delraylady, scouting and troop sending interface will be reworded heavily and your suggestions (pretty valid) incorporated. Can't tell when though. Although your suggestions are valid, I think they are offtopic to this thread so next time better find a proper one or create it.

43 is NOT impossible, as I also have exactly 43 cells. I have 212 culture + another 71 culture in my second town. The numbers are true in the beginning, but after the first few levels, they are wrong.

The numbers are not wrong, but once you have neighbors, you compete for the same space. The numbers would be accurate for a world without anyone close enough to oppose your borders.

The numbers ARE wrong for the real situation as it exists. Period. I am able to expand in three directions and I have far LESS domain than these numbers indicate.

I am going to post this screenshot as I think it is a very good one of how one town can affect the size of another. It shows that although I have enough culture to be bigger. I am giving up 8 squares to my neighbor.

Thank you for the image. I understand what you are saying about the neighbors affecting your expansion. However, the numbers were off for me even before I had no room to expand in the 4th direction, first of all, and second, since the numbers above do not say anything about LOSING domain because you have neighbors, they are still wrong. If there is room to expand in any direction, I should get all of the domain that I have "earned." If that is not the way it works, then the numbers should indicate that I will be PENALIZED for having a fast neighbor and I will be PENALIZED for building a second town. I think the game needs to be fixed, first of all, and if it is to stay as it is, the "hints and tips" thread needs to reflect the REALITY of the game, NOT the perfect situation, never going to happen for most of the players.

Don't forget we are all players like you, You are welcome to check out all really true numbers and even the prozentual effect of you neighbours. If you know more as we know so just post it at the tipps thread. And if you read the 2nd posting in this thred over the numbers of border, there was also written that neighbours will have bad effects and reduce your maximum possible size of your domain. I couldn't post a special prozentual number because i don't know the calculations.

Seems you read nothing in the thread here. Every culture of a town counts just for this town. your border will grow in every direction of your town so if will be nearly a circle (it can't be a real circle because we play on a map with squares ;) )

For example if you have more than 40 culture you will have a domain of size 9, this will be your town and 1 square in every direction you also could say a square of 3x3 cells, next step would be 1 square more in northeast, southeast, southwest and northwest. If you have a town with culture of more than 108 so your domain is a suqare of 5x5, next step would be 1 square more in northeast, southeast, southwest and northwest. Next step would be beside this last square again 2 in northeast, southeast, southwest and northwest. and so on. If you have more towns, so every town counts for hisself, and the circles will overlap. If you have a neighbour near you its logical you both can't have the maximum possible domain because you can't share cells for every kingdom.
