How to solve Steam Puzzles
For the steam puzzles in the mines, you need to make a path with the T pieces (from here I will call these VENTS) from the engine to the boiler.

EVERY direction the T points MUST end in either engine, boiler, or another vent (whether opened or closed).

If, no matter which way you turn the T, you can only get 2 points towards other vents, you must close that vent.

If, no matter which way you turn the T, all other points face CLOSED vents, it must ALSO be closed.

To recap: Generator to boiler, linked by T pieces, every end of the T facing either a closed vent or another T vent, with no dead ends.
