Given that quests do not tell you in advance, what the rewards are, sometimes when resources are awarded, they can overflow the storage and be lost. Especially in the tutuorial, which is where first impressions are made, on new players.
I was playing Trav***n a year ago, while on a break and they had a system where quest/adventure reward resources went into hero inventory, until the player wanted them. Perhaps you could make them into a 'package' in inventory........or drop them on the ground, like when a chest is opened.
