[SPOILER] Feedback for Places of Interest

1 2

Country fair is too random, sometimes you get resources that you already have and are just wasted.

Precursors lab and Lighthouse are nice and help speed up science.

Auction house, General Stores, most of these just give useless items/gear. Can just fight monsters or open chests to get better results.

Blacksmith, Tornadoes and other upgrades are not really worth it... Level 1 upgrade on either armor or weapon for a few units sent vs the slow unit speed time to get there. Being a real time game the reward should just be better when they take all day.

Kung Fu master does not promote enough units for the amount of time spent. Real time vs reward.

Plague village gives small amounts of exp vs the amount of units sent. Not worth the resources when you can just fight monsters or use items.

Message in a bottle, not sure, seems to be a hidden map in pieces maybe? Other than that just seems pointless.

POI's are a nice touch but really become useless once you join alliances in the end. And most of them are not even worth the effort. Since this is a real time game its just too slow and not really worth the effort on many of these places. But a few are really good. Maybe tweaking them to give better results? Simply put, this is a Real Time game and we spends hours and hours trying to play to only get a few things done. My suggestion would be tweak the rewards, make a better reason for the very long times spent.

Could you at least consider adding a possibility to use multiple fish (of the same species) at the same time? cos many would rather use 50-100 in a single go, rather than a fish here and there... dropping those 283 carps out of my inventory would be so repetitive and boring, id rather let them rotten there...

Yes, that's exactly what I was thinking about, and probably not just fish but any consumable item.

Would be awesome to be able to use multiple of the consumables instead of one at a time

I have been sending boats out to collect the 'message in the bottle'. I now have 4 pieces to the map and countless other silly and worthless messages. Is there really a new place to explore and how many pieces are needed? With everyone in the alliance clearing the fog, what are the chances of actually getting all the pieces?

I have 8 pieces of map but Bers says the location is not available yet.

Keep hoarding them, once we will unlock that stuff, it will be used right away :)

i just tried Kraken: i sent 10 cogs, 18 frigates, 13 cruisers and 5 spies and got… 34300 exp points! What a waste! Shouldn't the reward be much more interesting as the kraken is a rare POI? or if it is optimized with certain amount of units, there should be hints, we can't test the POI as it is so rare

SuperNad, probably your kraken was not far enough to give you a reward you expected. Anyways, we will tweak kraken formula in the next update, so you will get better rewards for it.

Random,

my general impression with POI's (and I really like exploring/testing them and playing with them) is that there are too many that give experience. I think gaining xp is already no problem in the game (as a result people struggle with figurines), hence the xp POI's are fairly uninteresting (for me anyway, but I have not heard from anyone who uses them [heavily] to gain experience). I am okay with not making use of everything/ignoring something I don't need, but if nobody uses something, it becomes somewhat pointless?

Personally, I never use the XP giving PoI's because the devour ALL of the units you send to them.

If they only cost you 30-50% of the units you send to them and return the rest, like how thieves guilds work when you succeed at them, they might actually be useful.

Please don't add any more 'Your units failed, all of them died and you get nothing' results though ;_; as nothing kills a players enjoyment more then losing a bunch of units due to random chance hating you.

Last stage I had a Kraken that was over an hour away and I sent upgraded industrial and renaissance ships along with cogs.  I lost every single one of them (it was more than 40 ships) and got 33k experience.  Granted, I was just experimenting to see what would happen but I vowed never to send to a Kraken again after that.

I don't use the POIs for experience.  I use mostly the jails, the Kung Fu Master (could use more of those :-D) and the precursor lab.

The thing is that spawn chance for most of 'experience-gaining POIs' was reduced twice a while ago. Reducing it more than twice is not really an option for us.

For experienced player like yourself or other participants of this thread gaining XP is not a problem indeed. But for a newbie or a casual player that does not bother cleaning dens regularly it may be a nice addition to existing game mechanics.

Also, it is worth mentioning that we keep listening to players' feedback and keep tweaking formulas from time to time, to make POIs more enjoyable for every player in the game. POIs will never return you the rest of your units, though - it was made this way by design.

Magic carpets can now be used, to reach places of interest, however.............some Poi's give better results over distance and it seems to be calculated on actual time travelled, given that I used a magic carpet to reach a fish market and got the same results, as if I had only travelled less than 5 minutes.
