Years ago we could see in harbor market the trades of players in other continents from their harbors. This was disabled because it caused a lot of lag, but with recent server refactoring/network changes, could it be enabled again without the lag ? Or if this cause some lag, maybe simply those would be displayed only if you click on the "More" button first. And I'm not sure but I think aerial trades between continents isn't disabled and works fine (but I always reach victory before reaching those traders so I can't use them, and they have low capacity anyway), so shouldn't it work as well with boats ? Another thing that changed is, years ago we were like a thousand per continent, very crowded, now we are very spaced, maybe this too would cause less lag today ?

I also have suggested the spacing is too much. hard to do culture victory any more as no neighbours to lend globals when you chose a politic like monarchy or have a small domain(trophy requirement). and the number of active continents could be a cause of game lag and issues :D I do wonder. Boats now often cannot reach the previous continent due to 2 or more continents inbetween, air transport runs at 4 hours one way. it is almost not feasible

Bigger harbours allow trading boats to travel further, but only 1 continent over. I think lighthouse only affects fighting ships on reinforcing trips, but maybe it also increases trading distance? I usually stop at Ren age, but maybe Industrial and info naval traders also can go further?

I don't think the size of the harbor change the distance, it's probably like 2 hours for all of them so yes I already saw that when 2 continents are very close it's possible to trade with a part of them but before there was no limit. Lighthouse is military boats only. It's quite weird to know that a consequence is that, the more fishes you attach to a single town, the more people (who also attached fishes) you can trade with.

I know when continents are side by side, a big harbour lets naval traders travel further, because I tested it. I didn't make any notes or screenshots though, so can't show any details. Also not possible to test it with the current continents. I currently have Renaissance Schooners, which carry 4000 resources, with a speed of 300. Land traders all have 150 cells per hour, Air trader dirgables are 400 cells per hour. Fish only increase speed (25%), whalebone increases load (25%). If it's a time limit, then using fish will increase distance you can travel, by sea. Naval traders may all have the same speed, but I can only check Renaissance, at the moment.
