Why is the brickworks in renaissance despite its clear industrial look ?

Maybe I am the only one to have noticed, but, clearly, the brickworks have the look of an industrial building, yet it's unlocked in renaissance (and thus also locked 2 ages later in information), what's the story behind that oddity ? also not like it's a priority but new players could notice it and find it as absurd as having a building in stone age with the look of a building in information age.

Because it fits there better from the balance perspective.

lets not forget theres literal steve jobs who specializes in floor tiles, wearing that iconic black shirt and jeans, which didn't exist in stone age. i think those are meant to be absurd and not be taken too seriously, sort of like in a cartoon, most likely because it kinda is in a way...

Yes, the game is designed to resemble some real life stuff, not following it closely.

In the same way: were Inquisitors originally planned to be in renaissance age before ending up in medieval ? On the tech tree with cursor on them, they have the renaissance background.

(but not the priests which have the expected medieval background, hence my question)

After all those years I noticed that just today, and it made me want to check the other units and buildings to see if some other also have this oddity, but inquisitor (and brickworks) is the only one that doesn't match its age so I really wonder the story behind it.
